Organize to Dress better
Today marks the start of a somewhat different blog for me. I have been styling Mommy's-to-be but now am expanding for all moms. There's something about having children that makes you focus less on yourself and more on them. While this is great most of the time, you should never lose sight of yourself--fashion included.
The first task I ask you to do is go into your closet and clean it out! If its full of clutter you wont find anything in it. Separate it into 3 piles.
-Pile 1- Goodwill/consignment----This is for clothing that is too worn, old, out of style, or no longer fits. Trust me, if it doesn't fit you don't need it. If your thinking you will somehow fit into it again, you will start to make yourself feel bad when you see it because you can't wear it.
-Pile 2-Trends---Put everything that's a trendy item in one place. This will help you mix and match it for later use with a basic wardrobe. These can be colored tops(this seasons stripes and Poppy colors) or colored jeans.
-Pile 3-The Basics---This is for anything that is a classic and always can be twisted into a perfection of art. I have listed the basic must haves below. I would also invest in better quality basics so they can last longer for your wardrobe.
-Black Suit Jacket(tailored)
-Pencil Skirt in Black or Tan
-White Button-down shirt
-A perfect pair or jeans in both skinny or classic and flare or boot cut
-3 long sleeved shirts fitted in black, white, and brown
-3 camis in black,white,and brown
-black belt
-brown belt
-A little black dress
-2 classic go-to purses in neutral colors
-riding boots
-pumps
-flats
-the list can be longer!!!
Then create sections for the two piles in your closet or drawers. It will be easier for you to pick something from both sections. Make sure you repeat this each season so that it stays fresh. If you would like help with this or have questions please email me at belleswithbumps@gmail.com.

Expanding to all Women!
At Belles with Bumps we specialize in helping Pregnant women find maternity clothing that makes them feel beautiful and stay in fashion. I go in and meet with the women in their homes, go through their closets, and show them what will work that they already own or what they might need. It has been requested that we expand our business to all women who may want a little help in the fashion department. Some women have little or no time to shop, have too many or not enough clothing, or just want a refresh assessment on what they need to stay up to date with the ever changing fashion field. We have decided to take on select clients on a first come first serve basis for any of these above needs. For a list of the prices and to hear about packages and specials please email Rachel at Belleswithbumps@gmail.com.
Hit the Sales!
Happy New Year everyone!!!Now is the best time to shop and stock up on so many things from baby items to maternity wear. I found some great items at great prices, thanks to new year sales. The key to shopping at end of the season sales is to decide which side you want to take. One one hand you can look ahead at new year and pick what possibly could work. Or choose items that can transition well into the following season and are more basic pieces. In the case of preggo moms I would go with the second option. Choose items that are layer able, neutral in color, and remain timeless. This will also pay off if you have future babies. Resist the urge to buy trendy clothing that may go out of fashion too quickly. The basic but on trend dress tunic I found was Mame Maternity Grey Turtleneck Tie Tunic on sale for $44.99. You can dress it up with tights and heels or down with leggings and boots or flats. I love the color of grey! Next,I found great pants, the Secret Fit Belly Bi-stretch Suiting Black Pockets Slim Leg Maternity Pants on sale for 59.99 with an additional 30% off! Such a great staple to have for work or dinner out. A perfect layer top that is still warm is the Sono Vaso Maternity Beige Valerie Sweater Tunic on sale for $44.99! I love the asymmetrical hem! It makes it on trend but the color keeps it classic. Make sure to check out all the sales in your area. For a list of great shops to hit, please email me!Belleswithbumps@gmail.com

Start Holiday Traditions
As I am looking around my house at our decorated tree and stockings I realize it is now my turn to start my own holiday traditions for my family. When I was a little girl we had several traditions I have kept doing each year, this year is no exception. We still go to Opryland Hotel to look at the beautiful lights, sing Christmas Carols on Christmas Eve,and eat a piece of chocolate before breakfast on Christmas morning. This year, since it will be my son's first Christmas, I wanted to explore what holiday traditions I could start that he might look forward to every year(as I always did with the traditions my parents started). The first thing I want to get is The Elf on the Shelf $29.95. You simply read your child the book about how his elf will watch over him throughout the holidays and report to Santa in the North Pole each night. You register your elf online and give him a name. You move your elf each day so your child has something fun to look for each new day. It is meant to build excitement for Christmas and I'm very excited about it. Next I plan to make Candy Cane Sugar Cookies on Chrismas Eve to leave for Santa(the cookies might change from year to year!). This great recipe I found at Pottery Barn Kids makes it easy to create a fun and yummy treat with holiday cheer. While we are making things, I can't wait to build Cookie Cottages out of gramham crackers, icing, and candy. You can let the kids decorate however they choose and there is no baking! Lastly, I must continue the tradition of my childhood by reading The Night Before Christmas $7.47. Please share your holiday ideas and traditions with me by emailing me at belleswithbumps@gmail.com. Happy December!

Holiday Look #5
Look out Jackie O! I found a modern twist to an old classic. Its the Ripe Jacob Tunic Dress $107 from Belly Dance in NYC. It has all the 1960s feel but you can make it yours. Wear it with tights and booties. For added wear, you can pair it with leggings and boots. This is surely to catch everyone at the parties eye.

Holiday Look #4
This just in:Shop the racks for gathering around the belly! I was just on The Limited.com looking for a dress for myself, when I came across Scoop-neck Sweater Dress $89.90. This dress is perfect for a mommy-to-be of all stages, plus post baby! It comes in red and black and you can layer depending on your climate. You can wear it with tights, leggings,or on its own. Boots,Heels,or flats its all accepted with this dress up/dress down dress. I would possibly order a size up to ensure belly comfort unless you are very small framed. Make sure that while you shop on Black Friday you look out for non-maternity clothing that would work as maternity! Happy Shopping!!!!
